Adama General Hospital & Medical College (AGHMC) is a premier private teaching hospital and research center located in Adama, Ethiopia. To support its “Vision 2030” of becoming a Center of Excellence in East African healthcare, the institution required a comprehensive digital platform to integrate its multi-disciplinary medical services with its academic and research programs.

Exploration

The project began by analyzing the dual nature of the institution as both a high-volume healthcare provider and a medical college. We identified the need to serve two distinct primary audiences: patients seeking specialized clinical care and students pursuing medical excellence.

Constatations clés:

  • Specialized Healthcare: The site needed to highlight advanced units like the ICU, IVF, and Oncology to reduce the need for patients to seek medical travel abroad.

  • Academic Integration: Creating a dedicated space for five major health programs, including Medicine and Nursing, to manage over 13,000 students.

  • Operational Transparency: Providing clear access to 24/7 emergency contacts, ISO-accredited laboratory standards, and institutional quality pillars.

Stratégie UX

Our strategy focused on balancing clinical urgency with academic resource accessibility.

  • Integrated Booking System: Developed a streamlined “Book Your Care” interface allowing patients to schedule appointments across 15+ specialized departments in under 60 seconds.

  • Educational Roadmap: Designed a “Classroom to Bedside” flow to visualize the student journey and highlight the integration of ICT in medical training.

  • Emergency Prioritization: Implemented high-visibility emergency triggers and 24/7 support links across all landing pages for immediate patient assistance.

Build & Implementation

  • Institutional Branding: Utilized a professional, trust-oriented design reflecting AGHMC’s core values of Compassion, Innovation, and Excellence.

  • Dynamic Content Hub: Integrated a “Health Insights” blog and news section to share medical research, academic achievements, and community outreach success stories.

  • Telemedicine Readiness: Built-in infrastructure for secure virtual consultations to improve healthcare accessibility for remote patients in the Oromia region and beyond.

The AGHMC platform now serves as a central digital authority for healthcare and medical education in Ethiopia.
